The ECA is a head-to-head format where competitors solve their cubes one at a time to ensure full focus on each.

 

In each round, competitors complete an Average of 5 (ao5) solves, where the fastest and slowest times are discarded, and the middle three are averaged.

 

The competitor with the faster average wins the round and earns a point. It is bo5 rounds (first to 3 sets wins a round), with the possibility of a grand final reset for the finals.
